It’s a full two-way sync of net changes at a field level, which means data gets seamlessly and efficiently synchronized back to the data source while at the very same time you receive any changes made by others to the records on the device you’re holding.

Without the combination of a iEnterprise Mobile type local app and local data your user experience is at the mercy of a network connection. Browser-based technology can get hung up looking for data or it’s frustratingly slow. Generally, to mobilize an enterprise system a MEAP solution is needed because they just aren’t designed for small footprint of a mobile device.

When a client app change is needed (such as new fields or new forms) these enhancements can be configured by your iEnterprise Mobile administrator and then deployed over the air without having to reinstall the app.

Technology Behind Robust iEnterprise Mobile Enterprise Solution

Developed on robust open standard components (MySQL, Java, Apache Tomcat) the Swift MEAP platform is a highly scalable enterprise solution that has been tested with tens of thousands of transactions across a system holding millions of records.

iEnterprise Mobile is a client/server solution where the server component has three main functions:

1) A replication engine connects your data source to users devices and performs scheduled synchronization between the system and the devices.

2) At the server console the look, feel and function of the iEnterprise Mobile client application can be configured. Both standard and custom data objects/fields from your data source can be mapped to iEnterprise Mobile data objects thereby fully supporting any existing customization that has been made.

3) The server also provides iEnterprise Mobile client provisioning and administration functionality. A ‘System Administrator’ can add users, remove users and configure rules to push an initial load of data to a user’s device. They can also clear or reload data if a device is lost or fails.

To provide true offline access to data the iEnterprise Mobile client works in conjunction with a secure local data store on a users’ device. Whenever a network connection is accessible changes or updates a user makes are directly forwarded to the data source. However, if cellular or Wi-Fi coverage is not available, changes or updates are stored locally and synchronized as soon as network connectivity is reestablished. Synchronization is very efficient with only net changes to data at a field level being transmitted, thereby minimizing the data volumes flowing between the client and the server. Regular automated two-way synchronization keeps all records up to date.

SECURITY

iEnterprise Mobile takes advantage of the inherent security
 and authentication of the data source it’s mobilizing. At activation, and then regularly there after (the interval is dependent on a configurable option), iEnterprise Mobile checks a user’s login credentials. By using existing security credentials, users are provided with the same level of access to data that they would have at a desktop, eliminating the need for any new levels of protection.

All communications from the device to the iEnterprise Mobile Server can be encrypted using SSL and optionally a VPN. With all devices the local iEnterprise Mobile data store is encrypted.

In the event of device loss, a iEnterprise Mobile system administrator may remove all data from a specific device via a console command.

Training and Support by iEnterprise Mobile Team

TRAINING

As part of your iEnterprise Mobile implementation you will receive System Administrator training (usually for two persons). This knowledge transfer course, which is held either onsite or virtually, prepares in-house IT professionals to administer the iEnterprise Mobile mobile enterprise application platform going forward. Your designated administrator will learn how to configure iEnterprise Mobile forms, add or remove fields, configure views, add new users, remove users, etc.

All iEnterprise Mobile client functionality is controlled via configurable options, which means that you do not need a programmer to be your iEnterprise Mobile administrator.

iEnterprise Mobile System Administrator training is also available, on request, after your initial implementation as a refresher for delegates who have previously completed the training course or for new system administrators. Please ask your account manager for details and a quote.

SUPPORT

During the term of your iEnterprise Mobile subscription you are entitled to all product updates, bug fixes and enhancements as they are released. You also have access to our UK and USA helpdesks during business hours (9am-5: 30pm)* for email and phone support. A copy of our current support and maintenance terms and conditions are available on request.

Customers with a current support and maintenance contract who wish to raise a support issue should please email the details to support@ienterprises.com. In response you will receive a ‘New Issue Notification’ message from our support desk detailing your case number (which should be quoted on all correspondence with our helpdesk) and providing information on how you can track your issue.
